1995 Salmonella Enteritidis at a Nursing Home

Baked eggs that were served on June 7 were implicated in an outbreak of Salmonella Enteritidis, phage type 13A, at a nursing home. One hundred eighty eggs were cracked and pooled for cooking in a single eight inch deep pan. The eggs were not stirred while baking so uniform heating of the eggs may not have been achieved.
