2008 Rochester Meat Company and Tony Roma Restaurants Ground Beef
In January, 2008, public health investigators in Wisconsin and California investigated E.coli related illnesses in persons who had eaten at Tony Roma's restaurants. The E.coli strains were a genetic match to one another. The ground beef patties were purchased from Rochester Meat Company. The ground beef was recalled. Employees of the restaurant were judging doneness of the hamburgers by texture and color and not by temperature.
