2014 Outbreak of Norovirus at a Spring Conference, Oregon

In March 2014 attendees at the Oregon Municipal Finance Officers Association spring conference became ill with symptoms consistent with norovirus. The conference was held March 9-12, 2014 at the Sunriver Resort. The majority of cases became ill on March 11. After the initial wave of illnesses on March 11 and 12, subsequent illnesses were suspected to be caused by person-to-person spread. Twenty-six of 227 respondents to a questionnaire met the case definition for an outbreak associated case. Two people were laboratory confirmed with norovirus.
