2016 Multistate Outbreak of Salmonella Muenster Linked to Live Poultry

In 2016 twenty five people were infected with an indistinguishable strain of Salmonella Muenster associated with contact with live poultry. cases were reported from Indiana (3), Kentucky (1), Michigan (5), Missouri (1), New York (1), Ohio (7), Pennsylvania (2) and Tennessee (5). Dates of illness onset ranged from March 11, 2016 to July 3, 2016. Eight people were hospitalized. No one died.
