2016 Outbreak of Salmonella Thompson at a Seattle Restaurant, Washington
In June 2016 investigators at Public Health Seattle King County (PHSKC) learned of an outbreak of Salmonella Thompson infections associated with eating at Fado, a restaurant located in Seattle. The implicated meal date was June 29, 2016. Both ill patrons reported eating bacon cheeseburgers and French fries. No one was hospitalized and no one died. An on-site field investigation conducted on July 1, 2016 found several factors that could have contributed to the outbreak, including inadequate cleaning of equipment, inadequate handwashing and inadequate handwashing facilities.
