2017 Outbreak of Clostridium perfringens at a Catered Event, Pierce County, Washington
Public health officials in Pierce County, Washington investigated an outbreak of gastroenteritis that occurred in July 2017. Twenty people became ill with symptoms consistent with infection of Clostridium perfringens. The implicated catered meal date was July 15, 2017. Investigators suspected the contaminated vehicle was roast beef. No one sought medical care and no one died.
