2017 Outbreak of Norovirus, The Crab Pot, Seattle, Washington
In March 2017 Public Health Seattle King County investigated an outbreak of gastroenteritis among patrons of The Crab Pot located on Alaskan Way in Seattle. Five people from the same meal party became ill after eating at the restaurant on March 4, 2017. There was no laboratory confirmation but symptoms were consistent with norovirus. Environmental health inspectors visited the restaurant on both March 8 and March 9. During the inspection investigators identified a violation related to improper handwashing facilities. No ill food workers were identified and the restaurant completed appropraite cleaning and disinfection of the facility.
