S & S Foods at Goshen Boy Scout Camp Ground Beef 2008
An outbreak of E. coli O157:H7, in July and August, 2008, at a Boy Scout camp in Goshen, Virginia, was traced to contaminated hamburger meat. Investigations found that hamburger meat was produced and distributed by S & S Foods, LLC, of Azusa, California. The hamburger contained E. coli O157:H7 that was a genetic match to E.coli O157:H7 that was found in the ill scouts. As a result, S & S recalled 153,630 pounds of frozen ground beef products.
