Santa Clara Prom Profiteroles 2010

More than 30 students attending a prom and a graduation party on May 8 and 9, in Santa Clara County, California, became sick with Salmonella Enteritidis. The implicated vehicle in the outbreak was a custard-filled pastry called profiterole. The pastry and its filling were made with eggs. This outbreak was one of California's earliest outbreaks linked eventually to a nationwide outbreak involving eggs from Wright County Egg and Hillandale Farms.
