Sponsel's Minnesota Harvest Petting Zoo Llama Contact 2009

Two children were hospitalized with hemolytic uremic syndrome caused by E. coli O157:H7 after having contact with animals at a petting zoo. One child was known to have had contact with a llama. The same strain of E. coli O157:H7 was isolated from the feces of the llama.
